Guidelines for Authors

Submissions

The Waywiser Press is keen to receive submissions from authors new and established, and undertakes to give everything it receives careful consideration. However, it is important that anyone contemplating such a submission adhere to the guidelines given below. Failure to do so will certainly result in delay, and could easily result in summary rejection.

Guidelines

(i) Poetry

1.  The press is happy to receive submissions at any time of the year. However, to make things more manageable, we will only be looking at them between April 1st and September 30th, and authors should expect to to wait 6-8 weeks from the moment we start our assessment to the point at which they will receive a response.

2.  Authors should send complete manuscripts, not simply a selection of poems (as heretofore).

3.  Together with the collection, you should send a resumé or cv. Amongst other things, this should list any previous publications.

4.  We cannot consider hand-written submissions, so please have everything typed or word-processed, on standard-size white paper.

5.  Except in special circumstances, all submissions must be sent by post. Do not attempt to send us anything by fax or email unless you have obtained our permission to do so.

6. All submissions should be accompanied by a stamped self-addressed envelope, or a self-addressed envelope together with an international postal coupon. Please note that manuscripts can only be returned if the stamps or coupons supplied are sufficient for the purpose, and will otherwise be disposed of without further notice.
